Felted soaps are ideal for light exfoliation and/or scrubbing (Gardeners, mechanics, cooks and outdoorsy types), also for those with mobility issues as they can be easily held and used. It is just like a "built in" super soft washcloth around an excellent bar of soap. They lather beautifully and last just as long (or longer) as unfelted soaps if allowed to dry between use. Because Alpaca wool is both naturally soft and both water-resistant and antimicrobial it will stay as good as on the first day you use it.
We start with our carefully handcrafted soap made with a combination of nourishing organic vegetable oils including coconut, sunflower seed, pumpkin seed, meadowfoam seed, and avocado. We make our soap ourselves, in small batches in the traditional European "cold process" tradition. This soap is wonderful for even sensitive or dry skin, as glycerin is generated naturally during the soapmaking process and not added artificially. We use only essential oils to scent them, no synthetic fragrances. All of our soap is guaranteed free of detergents, parabens, phthalates, gluten, soy, nut oils or artificial colors. Before you buy another felted soap, make sure the soap itself is of high quality; some people use drug-store bought detergent-based soap!
We felt our soap in silky soft alpaca wool sourced from a small herd of free ranging Alpaca in Sonoma County and hand carded, dyed and felted. we use dyes from a variety of (mostly) locally-sourced botanicals, including organic onion skin (sourced from New Leaf markets), locally scavenged lichen (flavopunctilia, Sierra wolf lichen, Stag's Horn, etc.), locally scavenged mushrooms (puffballs, omphalotus, turkey tail), avocado skins (sourced from Chipotle), coreopsis, also indigo, brazilwood and madder root.
Peace, Love and a Good Scrub!
